Our customer have question about Veeam Enterprise Manager Server.
They use it for Self-Service portal feature.
They protecting more than 500 VMs by Veeam.
In this case, we understand that it is recommended to install SQL Server Standard or Enterprise Edition for Veeam Backup Server.

Although the above sizing document did not seem to mention SQL Server of Veeam Enterprise Manager Server, should we also use the paid version of SQL Server for Veeam Enterprise Manager Server when protecting more than 500 VMs by Veeam ?

The recommendation for the EM is quite the same as for the VBR, so it's no more than 500 VMs for SQL Express.
You can review this old thread about the SQL sizing for the EM. Thanks!
