SQL transaction log backups not deleted

Post by dwill0411 »

I deleted the backup to disk files for a job I no longer need and then deleted the job. Later I noticed that even though the disk backup files had been removed, the SQL transaction log backup files that job was creating are still in the repository. Since the job doesn't exist any more and I don't need those files is it OK to delete them from Windows, or is there some other way that needs to be done?

Hi David, if you're positive those files belong to that deleted job/parent backups, feel free to delete them manually as well.
