Hi all,
We have two independent installations of veeam as standalone. All role and repositorys on each server.
We would configure identical backups on each veeam server (incremental).
So we will get two independent backups, one on each veeam server.
What about cbt? There is only one cbt-track-file on vmware, as fare as i can see.
So what will happens:
Change of File-A on vm-test
Increment Backup Veeam Srv one of vm-test
Increment Backup Veeam Srv two of vm-test
Is File-A included in both backups?
Best regards
Peter

Re: two independent incremental jobs to save one vm
Sure.
Change Block Tracking was designed that way that it is compatible with redundant backups.
Each backup solution create independent VM Snapshots. Each Snapshot has a reference number within the change block tracking.
All newer change will be marked with that reference number.
So when the backup application create a backup and other backup solution created additional backups, the backup application look for all block changes that has higher reference number as last backup.

I'd just warn you of any schedule overlaps, since backing up the same VM by two different backup servers simultaneously is prone to issues.
