I have a Windows Server 2016 server member of an AD domain.
I created a domain user (domain\username) to manage application-aware processing and I included the user in the local Backup Operators group on the VM to be processed.
I get the following error:
Processing <vm_name> Error: Cannot connect to remote SCM database. Machine: [<VM.fqdn>]. Requested rights: [0x80000000].
Win32 error:Accesso negato. (In Italian, Acces denied)
Code: 5
If perform the same job on the same VM providing the credentials of the Domain\Administrator user the job works fine.
Given I can't use the Domain\Administrator crdedntials, how should I configure the domain\username user to be able to process the VM?
Which rights or priviledges should I provide at domain and server level?
Regards
marius

Re: User rights for application-aware processing
Ciao Mario,
Do you have your Domain\Administrator account included in local Administrators group on the processed VM?
That would make sense since local admin privileges on the VM Guest OS are required for Guest Processing.
If this is the case, simply add a domain user to local Administrators group on the VM.
Here is the reference.
Saluti,
Oleg
