Using Surebackup as test lab?

We have to update the software on a server where our HR department then has to test for longer timer.
Since the server must be available for all users while this test is running, we think of a solution to let the updated server run somewhere isolated.
Can we use SureBackup for this? I have not configured it so far but found this article that it would not work with only on DC - and the other one is HW http://forums.veeam.com/vmware-vsphere- ... 12183.html

If we can use SureBackup: how would this work? How would the HR department access the updated copy of the server?
