vCenter Backup best practices
Is there a guide or best practice to backing up a vCenter (2008R2 - database is on a different SQL server). Support is suggesting that I add the ESXi host to a new backup job??? What happens if the vCenter gets moved to a different host? I have searched the forums board but a lot of posts are outdated regarded this.

Hi John, you can backup vCenter server pointing the job to vCenter itself, no issues with that. You would need to use direct connection to host during vCenter restore though. Here're a few threads discussing similar questions:
