Veeam Backup & Replication for vsphere 4.0

Post by Sim_andrew »

Hello All,

Im now to the community and read the FAQ and seen that the new 9.5 and above only supports Vsphere 5.0 and above.
Q: What are the earliest VMware version supported with 9.5 update 4?
A: ESXi 5.0 and vCenter Server 5.0.
My problem is that we have an esxi 4.0 (old server) and would like to save the data from it and migrate to a Esxi 6.5/6.7, and as far as i can tell this wont work sadly with the new 9.5 (or would it??? anyone tried it maybe? :?: ), at least not the backup part. :(
Is there a way to find a download link for Veeam Backup & Replication 8.0 community edition, that supports 4.0 somewhere. (Checked the versions and its stated that Veeam B&R 8.0 supports Vsphere 4.0) I would thank anyone who could send/write a link that could be used, i could not find any links on forum or site sadly for the last few hours that i searched for it.

Any comments/links thoughts and info is appreciated about this.

Thank you in advance :D

Hi Andrew and welcome to the Veeam community!

How many VMs do you have and which OS versions are you using for those VMs?

I recommend you look at Veeam Agents for Windows and Linux, this will allow you to protect your workloads before the migration\upgrade.

Thanks!
