Hi,
I found the following information in this KB article: http://www.veeam.com/kb1104
"When networking is not possible to resolve the ADMIN$ share of the guest, guest processing deployment will attempt to fall back to utilizing VIX, which requires that VMware tools be installed and running in the guest."
Does this mean that VMware tools also needs to be up-to-date, or is this not a hard requirement?

Re: VIX API needs up-to-date VMware tools?
Hi Tom,
VMware tools have to be up-to-date to make sure that the process of communication with Guest OS works as expected, but in my lab I've seen job running successfully even with VMs not having latest version of VMware Tools installed.
Thanks!
