VMware tools quiescence best practice ?

Post by albertwt »

People,

After reading this release notes: https://pubs.vmware.com/Release_Notes/e ... notes.html, the quiesced snapshot in a Windows Guest OS bug has been resolved.

So is there any reason as to why I cannot select this opetion highlighted below ?

When is the best scenario to use that option and when not to use it ?

Thanks,

Hi Albert,

The best practice is not to use this option for all Windows VMs (instead we highly recommend using AAIP option), especially when it has bugs like this, even resolved ;) For all Linux based VMs feel free to enable this setting for application consistency.

Thanks!
