Vmware Tools quiescence

Post by rimvydukas »

Hi,

I have backup job which backups all of the Vmware HA cluster VMs. I have several Linux appliances without vmware tools. Is there any way to disable requirement to use Vmware tools quiescence on particular machines? I can't install vmware tools and I can't create separate jobs for such machines. And I don't want to see constant warnings about an inability to use quiescence:(

You won't get any benefits with vmware tools quiescence on linux guests, they will only be crash consistent no matter what; check my thread : About VMWare Tools Quiescence for Linux guests

By default there is no file system consistency enabled at the vmware tools at Linux VMs. Why do you ehad enabled them?

If it is for pre and post scripting reasons, enable Veeam InGuest processing and user Veeams own scripting engine. Veeam InGuest processing can be changed for individual VMs.
