VMWare tools stops after daily backups
Hello,
Recently I have been experiencing problems running backups to an Exchange DAG. (4 servers in total, 2 CAS and HUB and 2 MB server). Everytime I run a backup, the vmware tools seem to stop and the next backup fails. I have been having to go every day and start the services manually, so backups can run, but I want to fix this issue. Once I start the services, backup runs successfully.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
SAM

Hello Sam,
Do you have any errors in Windows Event log saying anything about VMware Tools?
Thank you!

checked the logs and the only thing reporting is when I start the services manually. No errors on why they turned off. Out of the 4 servers I am backing up in this job, its always the same 2 servers that their vm tools turn off all the time.

Hmm...sounds like it would make sense to involve VMware guys to troubleshoot this, as I'm not sure where VMware Tools log files can be found to further investigate this issue.

Windows based operating systems:
• Open the tools.conf file which is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware Tools\ in a text editor.
• Find these lines:
*Note: %PATHNAME% would be the location of the VMware Tools log file.
Linux based operating systems:
