VSS errors on backup with SentinelOne Anti Virus- Solution

Post by tbeekmans » 1 person likes this post

VSS errors on backup with SentinelOne Anti Virus- Solution, it seems the latest version of SentinelOne is blocking the backup with VSS error.
Created a case at Veeam but support wasn't ware of this, the Solution is to run this cmd on the device as admin:

sentinelctl config antiTamperingConfig.allowSignedKnownAndVerifiedToSafeBoot true -k "PASSPHRASE"

You can find the PASSPHRASE in your admin portal of S1.

Hope this helps other admins.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for sharing this; do you mind sharing the Veeam Case number also just so we can check the case and the discussion there?

Is this solution from the SentinelOne team by chance, and were there more details on it? I can see with a quick search it looks like it's recommended by SentinelOne support a few times, but since it's AV, it's best to know the impact of such a change.

But thank you for sharing the solution for your issue.

This was a solution from Support from S1. They don't give much details but often happens on Domain controllers. They're working on it to solve the problem with new Agent releases.
