Problem to install Veeam Backup 4.1

Hello,

I wish to evaluate Backup 4.1.0.96. I do it on a fresh new VM.
But I'm unable to install it because of the SQL Server part.
I use a domain account with the following rights:
- domain admin
- local admin
- log on as service
The install failed during SQL Server installation with the message: "the setup was unable to install new instance of SQL server".
I will try installing SQL Express previous Veeam Backup but I want to know if my account need some special rights
and if there is a way to workaround this problem.

Hello Olivier,

Actually, you don't need additional rights to install Veeam Backup and Replication server, please send us SQL Server installation log files from %TEMP% folder to support@veeam.com for techincal assistance.

Are you sure it is clean VM and clean SQL? Sounds like you used it to install/evaluate some other Veeam products or versions, which created VEEAM instance on your SQL and is causing the issues to setup. Just a thought, our support will be able to find out more from the logs you've sent.
