Restore. Permissions issue: Parametername: disposableObject

Post by sibinsam »

Hi,

I am not able to restore any files after backing up using endpoint. Keeps on getting an error message "Value cannot be null Parameter name: disposableObject". After importing these backups to VBR suite, we can open the incremental backups (vib) but not the vbk file. Tried this on 3 to 4 machines (with mcafee disabled) and we get the same weird issue.
Ticket id 697295.
would be helpful if there are any suggestions which we can do to fix this.

Hi,

You cannot open these backups with the current version of VBR.
Can you restore files using Veeam Endpoint Backup itself?

Thanks!

Thats the weird part. I am for some reason able to open the vib files with vbr suite but not able to open both the vbk and vib with endpoint.

In the BETA you can:
- Backup
- Restore Endpoint backups with FLR/VLR and bare metal restore

You cannot:
- Restore endpoint backups in the VBR
- Restore VBR backups in the endpoint

Even you can import the Endpoint backups to the VBR, all other operations inside the VBR with Endpoint backups are not supported, and moreover, it might affect you existing VBR configuration. Please avoid importing Endpoint backups to the VBR for this BETA.

Hi,
Solved the issue. Problem was due to permissions set by our AD team. More specifically, a privilege known as "SeBackupPrivilege" had to be provided. Thanks guys for your support. Eagerly waiting for the GA of endpoint. :)

Hi Tobias,

Issue could be due to permissions in Active Directory. Please check existing thread

Sibin is right - you can check the permissions of the existing user. Sorry, I have not noticed that the error is the same - might be because of the German wording

EDIT: Merged all posts to the one thread.

Hello Eris.

This thread is quite old and the solution has already been implemented. If have the same issue please check your agent version as you might need to upgrade to the latest version which is v3.0. If you have the latest version installed please raise the support case and share the case ID with us. Thank you!
