Problem with VeeamPSSnapIn
Hello
After upgrading form VBR v.7.0 to v.8.0 Powershell script using VeeamPSSnapIn stopped working. I am getting the message "Add-PsSnapin : The Windows PowerShell snap-in 'VeeamPSSnapIn' is not installed on this computer" after running a command " Add-PsSnapin VeeamPSSnapIn". Do you have an idea what could be the reason? I have Powershell v.3.0
Regards
Piotr

Do you have Powershell in main menu of B&R Shell?
Is there any chance you are adding snap-in in x86 version of powershell?

Also, the script is executed locally and doesn't have any remoting stuff (like, Invoke expressions or something), right? Thanks.

Yes, I have Powershell in main menu of B&R Shell. Here SnapIn loads correctly (I did not check it early) - what is the difference between this version of PS and the version running from the icon on the task bar?
This is x64 version of Powershell
PS C> [Environment]::Is64BitProcess
True

Yes - locally; it connects to vcenter - is it remote stuff?v.Eremin wrote:Also, the script is executed locally and doesn't have any remoting stuff (like, Invoke expressions or something), right? Thanks.

Re: Problem with VeeamPSSnapIn
Nope, I was more concerned with PS remoting, like connecting to machine that doesn't have corresponding snap-in installed. Just for testing purpose can you update to PS 4.0 and re-install snap-in once again? Thanks.

Re: Problem with VeeamPSSnapIn
I've come up with a fix for this issue on 3 different servers now: Open Veeam, click the left menu and select PowerShell. It opens a Veeam-specific instance of PowerShell, but also registers the snap-in and lets regular PowerShell access the commands from then on.
