Can you advise where the logs for this would be located? Its not a job so unable to grab from the export log wizard

You can find logs in Menu>Help>Support information. In the wizard you can choose not only Jobs, but also VBR server(s) as well as VMs.

I just exported the logs for the server with the tape proxy
Hopefully that has what is needed
