Endpoint backup to B&R repository does not work
Hi,
After installation of Update2 on our B&R Server, we finally want to test Endpoint backup.
We added pemission for a specific AD user to a repository, and i can select this rep. on my Laptop.
Unfortunately all backups from this laptop terminate with the following error.
04.05.2015 10:14:41 :: Error: bad allocation Failed to upload disk.
Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}.
Exception from server: Reconnectable protocol device was closed.
Unable to retrieve next block transmission command.
Number of already processed blocks: [215]. Failed to download disk.
Some Technical info:
- Laptop, repository and proxy are in the SAME location
- B&R server is in a REMOTE location
any help

Unfortunately, it needs to be investigated by our support team. Kindly, open a support case thru Veeam Endpoint Backup > Control Panel > Support > Technical Support and post case ID in this thread for tracking purposes. Thanks.

I could not report the issue via the suggested method.
"The request has been cancelled. could not create a secure SSL/TLS channel"
Does it use some special port(s) other than tcp:443 for that.

Hmmm... Are you using a proxy?
If you are, try to "approve" *.veeam.com to make it easy.
If not, please let us know.

Thanks for your quick response!
We dont use a proxy, but have port restrictions, only "standard ports" are allowed to connect to outside servers.
I think the endpoint client doesnt even try to create a SSL connection, i dont see any attempts or "blocks" in the logs.
Is there another way to open a ticket or send the logs?

On the VEB machine, open the Control Panel from right clicking the Tray icon, and go to the Support tab. You can submit the ticket and info from there!

This was extactly what i did, but the client cant enable the secure channel to the veeam server to upload the logs and create the ticket.

Can you share the logs from C:\ProgramData\Veeam via any cloud provider (like dropbox or googledrive) and send me a download link via PM?Is there another way to open a ticket or send the logs?

DEV team has reviewed you logs: its seems the job fails due insufficient memory for backup operation. They advised to check if the virtual memory support is enabled in your OS, while I am interested what is your hardware configuration? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your help, you give great support even for a free product!!!!
I checked the settings on the laptop, your devs are right, virtual memory was set
to only 1GB, where 4GB RAM is installed. I changed the setting to 6GB and will
test if this fixes the problem.
