Aux Copy to tape
I am running on Veeam Backup and Replication 8.
I just attached an HP MSL4048 to my Veeam server. This tape library has 4 drives. Two LTO5 drives and two LTO6 drives.
Can Veeam work with a tape library that has two different LTO tape drives? I ask this because observe that when I erase a tape, only the LTO6 tape drives are being utilized, even though they are LTO5 tapes. Now when the LTO6 tape drives are in use (the LTO5 drives are free), and I try to erase a LTO5 tape, the LTO5 tape drive is not utilized.
Any ideas please.

Hi bsoosay,
I wonder if there is any specific error or warning in the Erase log? Was it a long erase or short erase? Thanks.I try to erase a LTO5 tape, the LTO5 tape drive is not utilized.

When you perform an erase operation the log session window should pop up.

Re: Aux Copy to tape
Benjamin,
Now I get it. It seems that both issues have the same roots - so let’s continue the communication regarding this problem in one thread. I’ve asked to pay additional attention to your case and if I hear back anything I’ll post an update. Meanwhile, please check the media to be valid as I’ve recommended in the separate thread. Cheers!

Re: Aux Copy to tape
Whether or not a medium is corrupted. I believe it should be possible to check tape consistency via native tools provided by device manufacturer. Thanks.
