Do we have to upgrade pay for V9?
I just got an email advising if I purchased V8 Enterprise or Enterprise Plus edition of Veeam before the 30th of September then I can upgrade to V9 for free.
Aren't upgrades free anyway if you have a support contract? Is the offer a free upgrade minus a support contract?
The wording is slightly confusing although it may just be me at the end of a hard day!

You are right - if you are currently in support , then your v9 upgrade will be FOC. I suspect the mailing is more to customers who have yet to purchase and weren't aware of our free updates policy, who might be holding off on a purchase until the new version.

Thanks for the clarification! The email was targeting Veeam customers who were not Enterprise or Plus customers....like us!

The disappointing subtext of the email is that it appears v9 will not be out in September...

Correct, however please note that 1 year is our standard major release cycle.

I guess marketing is doing its job a little too well. When I visited the web site in June, I got the impression v9 would be out "any day now".
