Feature Request: Break the chain

Post by crackocain »

Hi

Sometimes chain backup jobs keep working indefinitely or we want stop the chain jobs. But all next backup jobs keep working.

Did you consider add break the chain button or etc.

Thanks

Hi Mehmet,
Job chaining is not considered as best practice, because we recommend to leverage parallel processing instead.
As a workaround in your case you can disable the consecutive job and stop the current one.
Thanks

However don't enable the chained job too quickly, otherwise it will still be started.

Hi

Yeah i disabled the next job but if you start the main job, consequence jobs will never stop. I'm disabling job and restart veeam server. Then enable backup job. Backup job runs automatically. I dont knew 15 minutes interval. Good info :) Thanks

And another subject. SureBackup jobs cannot chain to surebackup jobs.

SureBackup job chained to Backup Job OK

but SureBackup job chained to SureBackup job cannot be scheduling. Thanks

Surebackup chaining was discussed in a related topic with good examples. Please take a look.
