Stuck Backup: Best way to clean up?

Post by Exrace »

I have been testing many different destinations but have run into a stuck backup job.
The job is configured to go to a NTFS windows share.
I am using appliance mode.

The last server is in the group of three is stuck at 32%.
2 servers completed fine.

I tried to end the job but it doesn't end.
I haven't rebooted the appliance yet but I am sure if I do it will leave a orphaned snapshot.
Is there any troubleshooting or other details you would want me to gather before I reboot?

Surprisingly after rebooting the vmware guest I am using for backup the snapshot removed itself.
I will see if it hits again tonight.
This has backup sucessfully before...maybe it was a network glitch.

This looks to be related to a outdated vmtools setup.
I have the esx servers running the latest 4.0 code level but the guest was one patch version back on vmtools.
I will see if it crashes the next few days.
