Recovery Media Creation (adding .net framework fails)

I have installed VEB on about 50 machines so far and on 2 of them, I can't create recovery media. The process "Adding .Net Framework" fails with a generic error. Has anyone else seen this or know how to find and address the root cause?

Hi, Paul. We would be very interested to investigate. This is the type of issues are nearly impossible to catch in the lab testing, and they are the whole reason why we are doing this beta. Could you please submit a support case from within the product UI, and post the case ID here for us. Thanks!

Hi do0zer and PMIT,

Did support give you a fix for this in the end? Its quite peculiar as we have got it working on 2 machines fine but on another 2 the .NET error occurs when trying to create the backup media. We can take backups of the machines just fine otherwise.

Ran into this error after installing ~ 200 updates on a Win7 Pro system.
Ran the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool at: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=30135
It didn't find any problems, but VEB was then able to create recovery media .iso without error.

Interesting... It might be because that framework repair tool will re-register the framework anyway regardless of errors or not. But thanks for the tip!

I just wanted to add that I found has the same issue and the Repair tool fixed things immediately.
v1.1.2.119 on a 2008 r2 machine.

Glad to hear. To be precise, the recovery media creation logic was improved since the last post (and we want to improve it a little bit in the upcoming update), so I hope we won’t see this issues again. Cheers!

i now have the same Problem. All Updates are installes and I also ran the Repair Tool. Sorry, but it´s not possible to create the Recovery Media.
