Copy interval has expired

Post by Danne84 »

We have an Exchange server thats 3TB+ and it takes a really long time to run the copy job.
So the jobs always ends with "Copy interval has expired"

Is it possible to change this interval time so the job can run longer?

You can configure the copy interval in the job settings. Is it just the initial synchronization that cannot be completed or the initial sync is already done and incremental runs also take too long?

"Copy interval has expired
Initial copy did not complete, and will resume on the next copy interval"

Ok so i can change the "Copy every 1 day" to 2 days for example and then it would run for 48hrs instead of 24 hrs?

Seeding backup copy job is a common practice in case of backing up considerably large VM. What kind of link do you have to remote location and what bottleneck stats are reported by the backup copy job?

The copy jobs runs to USB-disks that we change every week.
Bottleneck is Source (QNAP NAS, 24 drives)

Ah, so this is a local copy. In this case you have to increase the copy interval, indeed.

Yes this is a local copy.
So increaseing the interval allows the job to run longer?

Yes, it extends the time it allowed to copy the restore point data. What is the corresponding backup job schedule and how many restore points do you need to have on a rotated drive? If it is just a weekly full, then you can increase the interval to 7 days.

We only have 2 restore points on the copy jobs, they run durring the weekend saturday-sunday.
And then we switch the USB-drives. And we are using "rotated hard drives" on the repository.

Then longer interval should work for you.

I have the similar issue where the time it was set to

Copy every 1 day starting at 5:00 AM
I start the job at 8:00 AM and around 5:00 AM it says

"Copy interval has expired
Initial copy did not complete, and will resume on the next copy interval"

the file is approximately 1.4 TB but it does not seem to finish. I just moved the time interval to

Copy every 30 day starting at 5:00 AM and still does not complete.

no restore points currently my other smaller jobs copy fine. Set retention to 5.

any suggestions?

Charles, I guess, unless you click Sync Now, it first needs to complete the current copy interval and then start the new (longer) one.
