Credential Issue

Post by Tecbil »

I have two different VMs for where the test of administrator-credentials are not working when I enable guest file system indexing.
The first VM is a Windows 2000 Server. The error-messages are the followed.

First message:
29.04.2016 08:51:15 :: Failed to get VM's IP address.

Second message:
29.04.2016 08:51:15 :: Credentials are invalid

The second VM is a Windows 10 Professional x64. The error-messages are the followed:

First message:
29.04.2016 08:51:15 :: Checking standard credentials

Second message:
29.04.2016 08:51:15 :: Connecting to guest OS via VIX Error: Cannot upload file to admin share [C:\Windows].
Cannot create folder in guest: [C:\Windows\VeeamGuestHelpersTest].
VIX Error: A file was not found Code: 4

Third message:
29.04.2016 08:51:15 :: Testing admin share accessibility via VIX

I already tried to re-install VMware-Tools, an disable IPv6 on the VMs NIC but that did not solve the problem.
The credentials for both machines are the same (domain-admin with local rights). For every other VM in my network the credentials are working fine.

Thank you in advance for your support.

In regards to Windows 10 can you check if UAC is disabled? It could be related to it being enabled why it is failing.

Unfortunately enabling or disabling UAC does not change anything.

So for the Windows 10 VM, only VIX test fails, RPC test is ok? Have you actually run the backup of this VM?
