SQL Server backup truncate log warning message

Hello guys,

Since a few days I have been getting a warning message for our SQL Server backup which says:

"Unable to truncate Microsoft SQL Server transaction logs. Details: Error code: 0x80004005 Failed to invoke func [TruncateSqlLogs]: Unbekannter Fehler. Failed to process 'TruncateSQLLog' command. Failed to truncate SQL server transaction logs for instances: CITRIX NAV2015. See guest helper log. . Error code: 0x80004005 Failed to invoke func [TruncateSqlLogs]: Unbekannter Fehler. Failed to process 'TruncateSQLLog' command. Failed to truncate SQL server transaction logs for instances: CITRIX NAV201".

The backup Job worked fine until last week, but somehow I get this warning message after last Weekend. The only Thing I have changed was the Proxy selection on friday from automatic selection to VMWare Backup Proxy, but I changed it back to automatic selection on tuesday. Sadly I still get this warning message.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Did you by any chance contact support already? Could you disable and re-enable the job and see if this helps?

Hello Niels,

thanks for your fast reply, I disabled and reenabled the Job, right after I read your message. I will contact the Support right away. I just thought maybe this is something that could be corrected without contacting the Support.

Unknown error can hint at multiple things. Our support is glad to assist with checking logs and resolving it.
