I added 3 new proxy servers in my ESXi infrastructure.
I confngured many jobs to use only the neew proxyies but the first results I get show decreasing performances.
I suspect I missed some relevant steps...
Is there any best practice to get the maximum from adding new proxy servers?

Re: Best practices to add a proxy
Hi,
Could you please share some details about your environment, and bottleneck statistics?
Thanks

Re: Best practices to add a proxy
Thank you for your message.
We are investigating some local issues and maybe we will remove and re-create the proxyies from scratchs.
The question is more general: given a generic customer considering adding a proxy, what are the best practices to consider?

Re: Best practices to add a proxy
Hi Mario, if proxy server is not a bottleneck, then adding new instances wouldn't boost backup/replication job performance rates. If you want to scale out (scale horizontally), then adding proxy servers that are capable for direct SAN access or hotadd would be a preferred option.

That really depends. Here is an article explaining Transport Modes. Also please check this and this posts and do some search on the forum as the question includes too many variables. Feel free to ask environment specific questions.
Thanks
