Backup Copy Job - Noobie Questions - Apologies in advance
Hi
I think I have misunderstood the Backup Copy Job process. My understanding was that this would copy the backups to a secondary storage for offsite (USB Drives in this case). I want to backup the VM's to local (internal) storage on the Veeam Server and have a copy of that backup on external, rotated media. How can I do this?

Hi Brian and welcome to the community!
Your understanding is correct you need to backup VMs first using backup job and than if you wish to copy existing backups, you create backup copy job.
Thanks!

I must be doing something wrong, I first setup the Backup Copy Job adding the VM's from backup but the only files to come across to the USB drive is Veeam config backups. Today I removed the VM's from backups and added again through infrastructure but still nothing is happening. The job is running but with very little action.

I suppose the problem you are facing - your backups are too old and does not fit Backup Copy interval.
Please see this help page to understand how backup copy intervals work.

Issue found, Noob issue. Wrong repo set in target. Cannot be changed on the existing job, a new Job has to be created. No doubt there will be more silly questions to be asked.

Glad the issue is found, but actually you can just change the source in the job options.
