SureBackup appliance error ?

Post by albertwt »

Hi All,

i'm having problem with my SureBackup testing with the below error:

Code: Select all

14/09/2016 6:05:42 PM Error Starting virtual lab routing engine
14/09/2016 6:05:42 PM Error Timed out waiting for proxy appliance to respond. Possible causes:
14/09/2016 6:05:42 PM Error 1. Appliance is configured to run on different network than backup server
14/09/2016 6:05:42 PM Error 2. Appliance is configured to obtain IP address automatically, but DHCP server is not available
14/09/2016 6:05:44 PM Error: The operation has timed out.
This is happening after I have successfully upgrade the VCenter and ESXi to the latest 5.5 Update 3

So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Albert, am I understanding right, that the same SureBackup job (with the same settings) ran fine prior vSphere upgrade?

I'd suggest to check what IP address does the proxy appliance VM get (and whether it gets it at all).

Alex,

The IP address of the appliance and the Veeam server is the same subnet.

I can confirm from vSphere client it is getting its own static IP address.

How many appliances do you have? Do you see the same problem even for newly registered appliances?

Vitaliy, I only have one SureBackup appliance.
I have redeploy the new VM appliance after reconfiguring the DNS entry, but then it is still the same issue.

Is it because I have just upgraded to ESXi 5.5u3 and upgrading the VM hardware to level 10 ?
Or this is new bug in VBR 9.0 Update 1 ?
