Since B&R 9.5 the Exchange Logfiles dont trunkate

Post by WinstonWolf »

Hello ,

I think tha after Update to Version 9.5 of B&R the Exchange Server 2010 Logfiles wont cut after the Backup Job .
We become an Disk Full Alarm of our Exchange Server Logfile Drive because it will become too big .
And when i look in the Logfile Folder i see Exchange Database Logs from the 18.11.2016 . This is the Date when i Update Veeam to 9.5.

Any Solutions for this Problem ?

Thanks

Michael

Michael,

Can you review the job and see if application aware processing settings are still OK?

If this is still OK, please log a support call and post the ID (and after that the solution) in this thread

Thanks

[PROBLEM SOLVED]
This is an known Bug . To solve this Problem you need to set the SQL Settings under Processing Settings ( Guest Processing ) from Exchange Backup to "Truncate Logs" .

Michael,

Thanks for letting us know, I am sure it can help many others on the forum. Maybe it is me and I need more coffee but I seem to be not seeing a difference between the screenshots with the problem and without the problem... What exactly did you change?

Thanks
Mike

[SOLUTION]

Normaly under the the Point "SQL" in the Exchange Processing Settings there is "Do not truncate logs" choosen. You must set it to "Truncate Logs"

I know it has normaly nothing to do with the Exchange Log File Backup which you can set under "General" . But it will do the Trick for the Bug to set the SQL Logfile Truncate for the Exchange Logfile Backup ;-)

Before , means no Logfile Backup from Exchange possible ( Truncate [FALSE] )

After doing the Trick , now Logfile Backup works for Exchange Server Logs ( Truncate [TRUE] )

I hope this helps for other Customers to solve the Bug .
