Veeam backup 4.0->5.0.0 upgrade fails

Post by hla123 »

At the end of v5 upgrade I get the error "Setup was unable to start VeeamNfsSvc service", and installation rolled back leaving me with neither v4 nor v5

Windows (server 2008 x64) eventlog says

The Veeam vPower NFS Service service terminated with the following error:
Unspecified error

Hello Henrik,

First of all, I suggest downloading our latest release 5.0.1 and try upgrading to that very version. Secondly, make sure those ports are available on the backup server: 111 1058 2049 Standard NFS ports.

Hope it helps!

Hi, found the error. The server was a preinstalled Windows Storage Server 2008 with NFS roles installed by default. Removed these and it now works as it should.
