So I have a Share in my environment, that is around 80TB atm and is expected to grow up to 200TB+ in the next year.
This Share is a Windows Server attached to our SAN, my BackupServer (DL380 G9) is also connected to this SAN and has a D6020 attached directly via SAS.
Now I need to backup this 80TB to my BackupServer (and copy the backup to a remote location via WAN).
As vhdx "only" supports up to 64TB and we want to have one big storage instead of many 64TB storages, we cannot virtualize that environment.
My approach right now would be, to install the VAW on the backup Server, and then backup the data with this.
I don't know about the performance of this setup, as I haven't tried it yet.
Does Veeam have any other approach for that amount of data?
Or is it not "supported" by Veeam? (as Veeam is focusing on VM).
If not, would you recommend to use the VAW or should I use another Backup Solution?
E: just saw that it has nothing to do with HyperV, maybe move it to B&R or VAW
