Veeam 9.5.0.1536 restore wizard bug report

Post by mkelerikh »

Morning Veeam,
It may have already been posted, and/or not the right sub forum for this (feel free to move it to the correct place).

Bug: Wrong restore point count (can't choose the right restore point) show up during restore wizard.

To duplicate this:
1. Click on restore VMware vsphere backup.
2. Guest files (Microsoft Windows), but other some wizards are also effected.
3. At the VM selection screen if you manually select the job and VM everything works, but if you would use the search the functionality then Veeam will find the VM, but only show a single restore point after the VM is selected for restore.

I was able to replicate this with the following Wizards:
Instant VM restore (only last restore point is showing up).
Full VM restore (only last restore point is showing up, but you can later select the right point)
VM files
Guest files (Windows and other OS)
Guest file
Other restore wizards not tested.

Thanks Veeam!

Hello Max,

Is it possible to share some screenshots of the wizard where restore point count is displayed correctly and search where is not working properly? Thank you in advance.

Hi Veeam,
I had to remove job names and server names for privacy reasons, but here they are:

Picture one shows a manual selection of the needed VM within the wizard by selecting the job, and the server in question (as well as other servers) with correct recovery point count
https://ibb.co/ixCspG

This is the same job and the same server, but instead of manually selecting the job and server I have typed the name in the search field:
https://ibb.co/dQWwGw

This screenshot shows the next step in the wizard and shows only 1 recovery point for the VM

*we run reverse incremental, so seeing "full" as the latest recovery point is correct. Date and time is also correct.
