Merging and allowed data transfer times

Post by jcn.of@taarnby.dk »

Hi there
My backup copy jobs end up with a merge to create a new restore point. This is all good.
My question is if the merge-process will continue even though it runs past the time I have specified in the "This job can transfer data" setup for the backup copy job.
Lets say that the backup copy job is not allowed to transfer data after 9 AM but the merge process won't finish until 11 AM.
Will the merge process complete or be terminated?
Regards Jens

Hi Jens and welcome to the community!

If I get you right by merge-process you mean injecting data blocks of increment into a full backup file, the process should be completed in the scenario you've described.
The merge process is performed on the target side without transferring data. Thanks!

Hi Dmitry

Thank you.
Ok. I will give it a try. I was afraid to mess up my backup copy job.
Regards Jens
