Find specific tapes for server restore

Post by hm-hmason »

I'm trying to determine if there's a way to see what tapes are needed to perform a restore for a server. Need to be able to do a restore in a separate physical location from our primary data center and need to know what tapes to ship. Example, if I need to restore a server from a specific date from tape, how do I go about determining exactly what tapes I would need? I do believe that Veeam One has the capability from what I've read but not wanting to go that route just yet since we already have other monitoring systems in place.

Hello hm-hmason,

Open Veeam B&R console and go to Files node. When you see the Tape tree, locate the desired file, right click it and go to properties. Thanks!

This script should show you all files and jobs on all tapes. Just filter the columns within Excel to see specific files/servers.

Hope it works for you.
