Let me summarize where I am currently now and how I got there ....
I have 2 Endpoints that are Veeam Proxy and Repository servers, and are being protected by Veeam Agent for Windows Free, with backups written to a VBR 9.5 U3 repository - for detail: Endpoint #1 stores its VAW backups on Endpoint #2 repository and yes... Endpoint #2 stores its backups on Endpoint #1 repository.
Once I fixed the scenario from the URL above I decided to test Central management of Agents.
Create a protection group with these computers on the VBR console server. Then create a Agent Backup Job.
OK I require a Paid for license to perform actual backups....
Time to revert back to just basic VAW free capabilities.
From the VBR Console server performed Uninstall of the Agent on both Endpoints. Successful.
Deleted the Agent Backup Job, and Protection Group. Now there is no reference to these endpoints in my Inventory - as Agents under the Physical and Cloud Infrastructure.
I logon locally to each Endpoint and perform the VAW 2.1 install. It completes the installer but with Error message ...
Programs and Features shows VAW is installed and the other Microsoft SQL features.Unable to complete the action because this backup agent is centrally managed by your system administrator.
I am unable to go any further because of this message which is detecting this centrally managed status.
I have seen that there is a method to reset database which I'm guessing might get me out this jail, or cleanly uninstall, but I am using this machine for other Veeam purposes.
Limbo:
1. I cannot raise a support case through the VAW GUI due to this above message.
2. Logging a support case on the Customer Support Portal doesnt work either as I dont have a support ID for the VAW product to log support request against it or should I log it against VBR - for which I do have a support ID?
Ultimatey, I want to clear the flag that somewhere locally the Endpoint thinks it is centrally managed, without impacting my other Veeam components.
Thanks for any help.
