Veeam in a VM - Can it backup itself?

Post by Wad4iPod »

I seem to remember this not being possible. It may be mentioned in the user guide.

This is possible. But you cannot backup Veeam Backup server itself while using Virtual Appliance mode, this is documented in the Release Notes. All other options, except for "Application-aware image processing", are available for you.

There are existing topics on options for protecting Veeam Backup server if you want more info.

For example this one: What is the best way of protecting the Veeam Backup server?
