Upgrade to 9.5 3a (1922) Fails
On my Repository server (which is running Windows 2008 R2, fully patched), The installer on the backup server shows "Uploading VeeamMountService.msi package 95% done" then after a minute throws:
Failed to Upgrade Hosts components. Error:'Failed to call RPC function FcWriteFileEx': The Remote Procedure Call failed and did not Execute. RPC function call failed: Function name [DoRpcWithBinary]. Target machine [<IP address for Repository>]
I can install/upgrade from the ISO (as I've downloaded it) but feel that I should be able to do this from the administrative GUI on the backup server (which upgraded just fine ThankYouVeryMuch!)
Thoughts?
Roger

Any chance that your system is somehow low on disk space? The failure to write a file (FcWriteFileEx) is a pretty basic operation. I would certainly look carefully at the Windows event log on that repository and see if there was any corresponding information.

No disk constraints, the service account is in the domain admins group and nothing in the logs.... Guess I open a support ticket.

Was support able to figure out the cause for this?

When I had a similar issue a year ago or so, support recommended copying the appropriate .msi file to the problematic server and installing the software locally; it worked.
Might be worth trying.

Support fixed me up... had to do a manual installation and a number of file level tweaks...
