Backups of every VM completes successfully but randomly the windows 2016 domain-controller backup freezes and I have to restart veeam windows services in order to recover and retry.
This is a non-production environment, where I demo the latest veeam 9.5.0.1922
Logs available in case needed.

Hello Agis.
It looks like a VSS issue, so please submit a case and let our support team investigate the logs. Do not forget to share the case ID. Thank you.

Turned out it was windows defender causing disconnection. I disabled the AV using group policy and no occurence since then. A++ for the veeam support.

Please check the AV exclusion requirements here. Maybe they address your case as well.
