Failed to restore directory for VM w/FLR (event ID290 Windows)

Post by ppaula »

Hi all,

Using Veeam B&R 9.5.4.2753 and Netapp FAS2220 controllers already added into Storage Infrastructure menu (Snapshots are visible).

Everytime I try a restore (FLR) from a native Netapp snapshot it gives the following messages:
  • Failed to restore directory for VM SRVXX.
    NDMP service is not running.
Im not sure what have happened but I was able to perform FLR from snapshots in the past...

Any hints?

Thanks.

Hi Pedro, please contact technical support for a closer look. The message is too general, logs need to be investigated.

My guess is that the needed licenses are not there on the storage system, so that we fallback to NDMP copy processing for restore.
And this is not working as the NDMP is not configured.

Please cerate a support ticket, the team can have a look and see what is not working. Potentially check with a NetApp/Veeam partner if everything was implemented according to NetApp/Veeam best practices?
