Host Memory Pages Usage alarm during backups, even though the suppress option is selected
As topic says.
I keep getting these errors. They only occur after the backup job is done though, and the counter is back to zero. When I didn't suppress it during backups, the alarm fired right away.
I can see other people posting something similar, but they don't mention having selected the suppress option.
I'm using Veeam One 9.5.4.4566.

Hello Simon,
Is the metric higher than the threshold after backup is done or it equals to zero? If higher, that's an expected behavior.

It's higher JUST after the backup, but when the IO stops, it drops close to 0.

Got it.
Have you tried to increase the Time Period parameter?

I haven't. I've increase it to 30 minutes. I'll know tomorrow if it worked.

Backup just finished on one of the hosts, and I got the alarm even if it's set to 30 minutes :/

Thanks for the update.
Maybe it takes the average value for 30 minutes interval and because average of the last 30 minutes is higher than threshold just after the end of suppression the alarm triggers.
I'll talk to developers to find out how the alarm works.

Thanks.
As I see it, the suppress option should have a user defined "grace" period, so it doesn't kick in the second the backup is done.

Maybe. Or it should be + time period after the suppression.

A bit different
You meant a customizable option while my idea is to hardcode the time period from the "Rules" tab.
But both should work, yes.

Re: Host Memory Pages Usage alarm during backups, even though the suppress option is selected
Just got the reply from R&D that the behavior is already tracked as a bug and will be fixed.
As we assumed, performance from the suppressed period is taken into account for the alarm, that's why just after the job finish the alarm is triggered. In next versions performance metrics from the suppressed period will not be taken into account.
Thanks for the heads up!

Awesome!
Is there a newsletter or something I can sign up for so I know when the new version is available?
