how can get backup from specific folder in linux

Post by baber »

These are all of my mount points on linux OS :

Code: Select all

/dev/mapper/vg00-lvol0 4.0G 3.7G 46M 99% /
tmpfs 16G 0 16G 0% /dev/shm
/dev/mapper/vg00-lvol8 74G 186M 70G 1% /backup
/dev/sda1 97M 35M 58M 38% /boot
/dev/mapper/vg00-lvol2 9.9G 151M 9.2G 2% /tmp
/dev/mapper/vg00-lvol1 9.9G 3.6G 5.8G 38% /usr
/dev/mapper/vg00-lvol3 9.9G 1.1G 8.3G 12% /var
/dev/mapper/vg01-lvol01 4.0T 1.4T 2.4T 37% /storage

now i want get backup from folder "dump_tmp" in this path:

Code: Select all

/storage/dump_tmp
I used file level backup and choose directory to backup such as follow

https://pasteboard.co/IsDBKWc.jpg

Hi,
is that correct ?
Yes, that is correct.

Please also note that you seem to be dangerously low on space on your root volume.

Thanks!

No, he means low on space. Your root partition is at 99% usage!

why ?
1- while i want get backup from /storage/dump_tmp due to get backup it's space will be use more than 99%?
2- if answer for question 1 is yes , now what is your solution ? i need get full backup every day from files in /storage/dump

Because you have too much data on your root partition, you need to either perform a cleanup, or extend the logical volume your root resides at.

1. No, it should not - normally veeam doesn't place anything in root partition (except cases when snapshot placement algorithm chooses to place snapshotdata file there).
2. You need to clean up your root partition regardless of your intentions to use or not to use veeam.

If /dev/mapper/vg00-lvol0 will be 100% full, the system will get practically unusable.

Thanks!

Hi,

/storage/dump_tmp - what storage is it? Is it NFS or local storage? Also, what kind of data do you store there - is it a bunch of small files, or rather several large files?

Thanks!

Please give it a try without using a snapshot, and use file-masks to explicitly specify just one of those files to see if that will make any difference. If it won't, then kindly contact our support directly so they can investigate why is it taking so long

Thanks!

1- There is a checkbox right under "file-level backup" radio button.
2 - No, I mean that you need to configure filters under "Advanced settings". Leave the path as it is now (/storage/dump_tmp/), just specify IB-201908312341.tar.gz here.

Thanks!
