v10 RTM FreeNAS configuration issues
Hello,
I have found two issues during the Fileserver configuration for NAS backup. First one is a warning during Windows Fileserver discovery (Access Denied)
Here the screenshot https://www.screencast.com/t/nwDnvyB4j
The second one is during a linux based appliance setup (freenas). The error is "Failed to determine if the file server uses 64-bit OS)
Here the screenshot https://www.screencast.com/t/y4JMDAElwj
SMB or NFS share configuration is working without problems.
thanks in advance
Best regards
Davide

Re: v10 RTM NAS configuration issues
Hi Davide,
Have you already raised a support case regarding these difficulties? If not, could you please go ahead, do so and let us know your case ID because we might require to check the debug logs in order to determine the root cause. I'm pretty sure the first one is related to insufficient privileges. Regarding the second - I've asked our QA team if they have seen this behavior. I will let you know once I hear back from them.
Thanks

Re: v10 RTM NAS configuration issues
Just a quick update on the second one. You cannot add a FreeNAS server as a Managed Server since it is running on FreeBSD, simply try adding it as a File Share (NFS or SMB) and let us know if it works.
Thanks.
Thanks.

[MERGED] v10 RTM Unable to create SMB Repository
Hello,
I'm getting the error creating SMB repository "Unable to investigate path <\\ip-address\share-name>".
The share is configured on a FreeNAS applicance. From the same FreeNAS I have successfully configured a NFS Repository.

Re: v10 RTM Unable to create SMB Repository
Hi Davide,
Hasn't it been working previously? Does the share require authentication?
Thanks

Hi Wishr,
this is a new share, I'm playing to try v10 features. I'm working on FreeNAS side to check permissions (freenas is quite tortuous).

Davide,
Based on the screenshot access credentials were not set for this file share, so can you please confirm that anonymous access was enabled (or add account that has Read permissions to the mentioned file share)? Thanks!

Sorry for the delay, but for the moment I have abandoned these kind of tests with FreeNAS.

Re: v10 RTM FreeNAS configuration issues
Hello Andrea,
Thanks for the confirmation!
NFS file shares with host-based authentication are fully supported by Veeam NAS backup, but, please keep in mind, that SMB file shares with user-based authentication are fully supported as well. Cheers!

Hi,
Do you have a case number to share with us? Put it simply: without technical details about the issue, we will not be able to fix it.
Thanks
