My first error during upgrade since version 6...

Post by kristofpoppe »

Upgrading our environment to v10 (currently v9.4U4 full patched) was not a success.
This is the first time I hit such an hard error since working with V6
Upgrading the Ent. Manager already fails when starting the upgrade after the initial questions (license, database,...)
The logs are also not giving a clear clue.

Some ideas ?

Case with full logs is already opened: case ID : 04051445

Hello Kristof,

Sorry to hear that you've faced an issue, but, unfortunately, it's hard to say what went wrong without debug log analysis. Please keep working with our support team in order to understand the root cause and let us know how the investigation goes. Cheers!

Solution provided by Veeam Support:

1) Change the service account of the Veeam Guest Catalog Service (VeeamCatalogSvc)

Open services> Locate VeeamCatalogSvc> Properties >Log On and change the logon account to Local System

2) During installation select the Local_System account. Later on, after the installation you may change it back to a desired account.

Worked for me! :)
