Feature request - Dark mode

I see this has already been requested for 365 product, but I would like to see it in BNR. It's nice to change just the title bars and such, but I would like to change all of this gray/white stuff to dark gray or black!

Apparently, this would require re-creating thousands of icons, due to all of them having white backgrounds (as opposed to transparent). This will keep our designers busy for a while!

Hello.

I am still waiting for the dark mode.
My eyes are burning with this white screen. They are sensitive to light, and I set every display to dark as much as possible. The add-on "Dark Reader" does an impressive job, maybe you could work with the developers?

No progress so far. But whenever next UI refresh comes it should have a dark mode, because we will need to re-create all icons anyway.

Pity the icons are not vector graphics. Then they could be sized and colored programmatically.

And please do not make such heavy weather of everything. It should not be a big problem to switch colors.
And if it is a bigger problem, would be glad to know why it is lasting so long.

FWIW, even if it clashed, I wouldn't mind keeping the toolbars/icons as-is and just changing the background/font colors. It might look a little odd, but it's better than eye fatigue.

Having reduced white on-screen would still be an improvement; the grey background on the sidebar/toolbars is a lot less painful than the white background on the main pane/dialogs.
