Veeam Agent for Windows Free - Cannot find shadow copy of volume Recovery partition

Hello,

I've a problme with my free Agent for Windows.
My case number is 04286997.

I try to backup a physical Windows 212 R2 Standard Server with Veeam Agent Free.

I select volume level backup and I check "Operating system" on the volume selection.

We I start my backup, it fail with this error :
17/07/2020 09:56:22 :: Calculating digests Error: Cannot find shadow copy of volume Recovery partition
17/07/2020 09:56:51 :: Error: Cannot find shadow copy of volume Recovery partition

If I uncheck "Operating system" the backup is working fine.

I don't find how I can solve this issue.

Hello pchatellier,

Try to update Veeam Agent for Windows to the latest version 4. This issue might be related to hidden recovery partition created by Windows updates and this behavior should be fixed with the latest version. Cheers!

Unfortunatly, I still have my problem after update to version 4.

We I try to backup on an external HDD backup job failed.

If I backup on internal HDD all works fine.

My Event viewer is flooded with this error too :


The value with name specified in registry (SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VSS\VssAccessControl) is not of type REG_DWORD. The entry is ignored. It must have a valid username as name, be of type REG_DWORD, and value either '0' or '1'. Value '0' denies the username from running any VSS writer. Value '1' is used to allow it.

I am using the latest version of Veeam, Please suggest !!!
