Re-Install/Repair Procedure

Post by VBOUser_365 »

Hi,

Can anyone point me to the procedure to re-install VBO 365 preserving all settings? I have a situation where the VBO explorers are out of date compared to the main program but when I try to run the individual installers they fail with a message saying 'an existing product is already installed please remove before trying to install'. I would like to uninstall the whole product (cos the repair option is greyed out) and re-install but I don't want to have to put all the organizations and backup repositories back in. Any advice on this would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi Rick, please contact support to help you install the explorers and let us know the support case ID for future reference. This will be easier compared to the migration method.

Ok I contacted support and they gave me the info I needed, which was how to preserve the Organisation and repositories in case of a re-install. Simply copy the c:\programdata\veeam\backup365 folder somewhere safe then uninstall/re-install. In fact just a simple uninstall/re-install kept that folder where it was and retained all the setting when it opened back up so all good!

Thanks.
