Failing to Install: Installation Interrupted Before Application Could Be Installed (Case #03998356)

Good Morning,

I have been trying to install Veeam Backup and Replication on my laptop to try and restore some files that are on another repository. The VM that had the original B+R console installed on it was one of the VMs that went down so I am trying to use another instance of B+R to access the files and restore them until we are able to get back up again.

However when I am attempting to install (doing the same thing that I did previously, just installing from the iso) I am getting the following error message: "Installation was interrupted before application could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again."

But no matter what I try I still run into this same error message.

Here are the last few lines of the logs for the installer:

Any ideas of anything else I can try?

Try installing required components manually from the disk. I am quite sure one of them will fail for some reason(like SQL server doesn't like your laptop setup or some sort of that).

I had this issue because the installation was run from a networkd drive. I don't know why that is. Copied the files locally and everything went on smoothly. It might help someone out there. On Windows 10 1909 - VeeamBackup&Replication_10.0.1.4854_20200723

I had this issue and it was because the Microsoft SQL folder under program files & program files(x86) was set as compressed.

In my case the installation path was too long ... old sql setup issue.
