The forever incremental requires merging which is taking a very, very, very --- let me put it this way:
vvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
long time for some clients. We typically use either USB drives or QNap devices for onsite backup repositories. Would we be better off to switch to having an Active Full backup every Sunday with incrementals between the full backups to avoid the horror of merge?

Re: Merge time sucks
Hello,
yes, periodic active full is the way to go on slow storage systems to avoid merges.
QNAP could act as block device with REFS /XFS https://www.veeam.com/blog/advanced-ref ... suite.html
REFS is not supported for USB drives.
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Merge time sucks
Hannes,
So I should be able to leave my current settings as it, just check the box for Full Back and set to every Sunday?
