NAS Backup V11 licensing
Is there any chance one day there will be NAS Backup licensing that is not related to a certain storage size?
We waited a long time for the NAS Backup option. But licensing it to 250GB does not make any sense for us. We are a small company with many TBs and a daily grow of almost 300GB. Doubling the license to 500GB makes not much difference for us. We need a license that is not related to any number of GB, TB or PB.
We need the NAS Backup only for tape. The File to Tape is not the alternative that will work for us.
There is no other option for us to move to another backup vendor for our weekly & yearly NAS Backup (backup of our shares). I hope one day Veeam will offer another type of licensing for NAS Backup to tape.

Hello,
Have you considered NDMP to Tape backup? This one is not based on capacity, in fact it does not consume the license at all.
Thanks!

But the functionality you're discussing does not support tape as a target in the first place? Currently, our NAS backup is limited to disk to disk backups only.
Can you clarify why?

Re: NAS Backup V11 licensing
Good to know that NAS Backup does not support tape, I was not aware of that. Is this a feature that is planned for NAS Backup? And again, is it planned to deliver NAS Backup licenses that are not related to storage sizes?
We want to be able restore specific folders or files (not a whole volume, it would be too big). And we need performance; this means we need to be able to use multiple tape drives (up to 4) using the speed of the newest LTO version (we are planning to use LTO9).

Re: NAS Backup V11 licensing
I am looking forward to hear more, especially if this will be addressed in the coming months (we need to have a solution for backing up files to tape in the summer of '21).

No, it's not going to be addressed this year.

Okay, I will be patient. Hopefully it will come with V12. Again, thanks for the update and I am happy it is on the ToDo list.
