Problems with the Agent after updating the kernel

Post by GianlucaCroci »

Hello,
after updating the Kernel of some Linux servers, without making any changes on the Veeam side, the Backup fails with the following error.
Failed to load module [veeamsnap] with parameters [zerosnapdata=1 debuglogging=0 snapstore_block_size_pow=14 change_tracking_block_size_pow=18 logdir=/var/log/veeam fixflags=0 logmaxsize=15728640].
Module loading operation has returned code [255]
Failed to perform managed backup
Failed to take volume snapshot
Failed to create volume snapshot
The servers are backed up via the Agent (vers. 5.0.2.4567-1.el7).
The Job is configured as follows:
- Job Mode = Server - Managed by backup server
- Backup Mode = Volume Level Backup
- Object = /dev/sda
- Guest Processing = nothing selected

Server (VM) = Centos 7 – kernel 5.4.197-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64

The Centos kernel version is compatible with the currently installed Agent.

Any suggestions to solve the problem?

Thanks in advance.
Kind regards

Thanks.
I see, that no logs are uploaded to the case. Could you please attach the latest log files to the case?
That will be the first thing our support engineer will ask for if they are missing.
You can export the logs in the Agent with the help of this article:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=50

Thanks

Hi,

Do you have secure boot enabled by any chance?

Thanks!
